Here is the premise: Bridget decides to throw caution to the wind and has a one night stand with a man she meets at a festival, and right after that she has a fling with an old love; soon she finds she is pregnant but not sure who the dad is.

While I loved the first Bridget Jones movie, the second (Bridget Jones Edge of reason) in the series left me feeling kind of blah, not much to it. That being said, Bridget Jones’s baby saves the credibility of the series, it is as good as Bridget Jones diary and is fun to see a good wrap-up of the characters that we have all fallen in love with.

While Hugh Grant is not in this one physically, he is still a focal point of the film; Patrick Dempsey comes in as a fantastic filler to Grant to shake up Bridget’s life. Colin Firth returns as Mark and of course Renee reprises her most famous role as the quirky Bridget. The cast is excellent and between that and the script, it hits you right in the feels throughout the entire movie. Sharon Maquire, who directed the original in 2001 but not the second film, returns to direct the third installment and does an outstanding job.

This is primarily a chick flick, most guys may not enjoy it but it will definitely give you boyfriend/husband points if you take your woman to see this, and who knows where it will lead afterwards. Ladies, this also makes a good girl’s night out without the guys. Either way you slice it, I recommend seeing Bridget Jones’s baby.
