Here is the premise: A story set on the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which exploded during April 2010 and created the worst oil spill in U.S. history and caused several deaths.

I remember being glued to the news in 2010 watching the coverage of this horrific event. Knowing the outcome, it was interesting to see the behind the scenes story of what really happened. Two of the actual survivors worked with the film crew, so I am confident that what we saw was fairly accurate, and it was a pure edge of your seat, white knuckle kind of movie. I gasped, I cried, it was like I was actually there.

The acting was awesome, Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell were fantastic; as were the rest of the cast. It was very intense, and this partly due to the acting, also due to the wonderful script and Director Peter Berg. Berg’s vision of life on an offshore rig was spot on and gave us all a little glimpse of what it was like before and during this tragedy.
