The Black Lives movement comes to the classroom via the Center for Organizational Responsibility and Advancement – CORA’s doctoral class (livestreamed for the general public) instructing school and college leaders on how to educate, prepare, and mobilize their educators. Course focuses on Black boys and men. More information is available online.


Here are the list of topics and the facilitators who are scheduled for each Black Minds Matter date. As a reminder, we skipped November 22 due to the Thanksgiving holiday but it will be held on December 20, 2017.

November 15, 2017 – Assumptions of Criminality – Dr. Minkah Makalani (UT)
November 29, 2017 – Promising Practices for Teaching and Learning – Dr. Theodore Francis (HT)
December 6, 2017 – Holistic Support for Black Male Learners – Dr. Ryan Sutton (UT)
December 13, 2017 – Advancing Black Male Policy, Support and Research – Kaye Crawford
December 20, 2017 – Campus Climates and Non-Cognitive Outcomes – Jackson Brown (UT) and Binta Brown

There will be a livestream viewing and discussion facilitation afterwards, which is guided impart by Center for Organizational Responsibility and Advancement – CORA.
