Here’s the premise: A re-telling of the Stephen King Book of the killer clown Pennywise. In the Town of Derry, the local kids are disappearing one by one, leaving behind bloody remains. In a place known as ‘The Barrens’, a group of seven kids are united by their horrifying and strange encounters with an evil clown and their determination to kill “IT.”

I have been excited about this newer version since I heard they were thinking of remaking it, I was already getting chills when I heard they cast the incredible Bill Skarsgard to play Pennywise, and I got absolutely giddy when they cast Finn Wolfhard from STRANGER THINGS to play Ritchie. The day we saw the screening I was hoping I would not have another disappointing letdown as my second favorite Stephen King book comes to life, I was not at all disappointed.

First, the entire cast did a stellar job, Skarsgard made Pennywise a thing of nightmares, just as King wrote about. He was creepy, evil looking, and the way he was filmed gave it that little extra umph, I loved everything about him. The kids that were cast for the “Losers” were spot on, they are the embodiment of King’s group that fights the monster, they all fit together so well like they had been friends for years.

The story flowed well and there are plenty of spine chilling moments, if you love horror then you need to see this movie, I cannot recommend it enough, from beginning to the awesome ending, I was glued to the screen. It says a lot when Stephen King wholeheartedly endorses the film, and I totally agree. Go see “IT”, you will not regret it…or will you regret it at night?
