Kingsmen: The Golden Circle Review

Fellow movie-goers: Was not sure if the sequel could live up to the first movie, but it did and it was SPECTACULAR!!!
9 Plot: Great story, not too forced.
10 Acting: Everyone did great, Julianne Moore stole the show.
10 Directing: Matthew Vaughn at the helm again, incredible jog AGAIN.
10 Cinematography: Mind blowing action scenes.
9 Pacing: Kept up the pace for the most part, some Elton John parts were a bit much though.
9.6

Here’s the premise: When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage by an evil woman (Julianne Moore), the Kingsman’s journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy.

What a fun movie, Matthew Vaughn once again takes the helm as Director and delivers a kick-ass sequel that will keep you laughing and keep you on the edge of your seat all at the same time. This time around, Taron Egerton (Eggsy) and Mark Strong (Merlin) are joined by a veritable who’s who of American actors  including:  Channing Tatum (Agent Tequila), Jeff Bridges (Champ), Halle Berry (Ginger), Pedro Pascal (Agent Whiskey), and Julianne Moore as the evil drug queen Poppy. I wondered if adding so many new faces would water down the story, but it stayed just as fun and fresh as the original Kingsmen.

I knew I was in for a wild ride when the opening sequence is a really cool car chase with Prince playing in the background. The movie starts off strong, stays strong, and finishes even stronger. The acting is fantastic, and Julianne Moore does a great job as the sequel’s villainess; she is everything you would want from a bad guy and more. If you loved or even liked the first Kingsmen, you will love this one as well.
