On an overcast and windy morning in June, on the beautiful campus of the historic Huston-Tillotson University – a very diverse cross-section of Austin’s community came together for the purpose of fitness and fun.
Thanks for an amazing time ! As soon as my body stopped cussing me out, it offered praise and gratitude. Great ride, great peeps, great swag, great refreshments!Fifty riders set out on a tour of East Austin and were led by Bike Austin, Riders Against the Storm and Austin’s most prolific tour guide Harrison Eppwright. At the end of the ride, riders replenished themselves with scrumptious breakfast tacos and fruit cups from Glorious Barbeque and refreshing cups of italian ice from Make My Day Ice. This invigorating event was made possible by our amazing partners Counter Balance ATX, Six Square, Austin B Cycle, the Austin Area Urban League, The Austin Socialite and Black Girls Do Bike Austin. The ride was photographically captured for posterity by Eli Wells Photography. A good time was truly had by all and word on these streets is this an event that may be repeated in the near (and much cooler) future!
