The 2024 Austin Fashion Week is set to take over Domain Austin April 18-20, and this year’s event will feature the second Black Designers Showcase in partnership with the Austin Area Urban League.
Participating in the showcase are 12 designers from Austin and beyond eager to share their talents with the showgoers. As a special twist for the shows, AFW announced two guest show stutters, Terry P. Mitchell and Tameca Jones.
Terry, self-proclaimed serial entrepreneur, is the co-owner of Austin Woman Magazine, part of the Black Leaders Collective, co-chair of The Black Fund, and much more. A portion of her ticket proceeds for the show will benefit The Black Fund.
Tameca is a soul and R&B singer based here in Austin, Texas. Her new album, Plants and Pills, is out now, and she will be performing live at The Courtyard, along with Blakchyl, on April 20. She has chosen for a portion of her ticket proceeds to benefit The Black Fund also.
The Black Designers Showcase will be Friday, April 19 at 8:00 pm and features 2 Luv Her, Bow Inertia, Davis Atelier, Explore Her by Dora, Fashion Disorder, House of Chelette, Love Story Bridal, M. Jeanne Apparel, TOPTIERFASHION, UNTDX, Virtuous, and Young Gods.
Austin Fashion Week Black Designer Showcase tickets, ranging from $50-195, give you runway seating (based on the row/level you choose) for the show at The Domain. VIP upgrades are available and include access to the Semper Laser VIP Lounge along with an open bar provided by Marfa Spirit Co.
