FreshStart is a program of the National Society of Black Engineers – Austin Professionals (NSBE-AP).  We use interactive workshops to introduce multiple forms of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to 6th – 12th graders. You do not want to miss this opportunity for both students AND parents.

We’ll have great workshops that will give students an opportunity to get a better understanding of what it takes to have a career in STEM fields. We also have a parent track to provide valuable insights on how to support your student’s STEM journey.

Breakfast and Lunch are provided. Student Track Schedule:

• 8:30am – breakfast
• 9am – welcome & ice breakers.
• 9:30 – kids get in their assigned groups.
• 10am – 1st session
• 11am – 2nd session
• 12pm – lunch, awards, and panel discussion
• 1pm – 3rd session
• 2pm – 4th session
• 3pm – 5th session
• 4pm – 6th and last session
• 5pm – closing remarks, awards, recognition
• 5:30pm – everyone is dismissed

Parent Track Schedule:

• 10am, 11am, and 1pm ONLY.
• 10am – 1st parents session
• 11am – 2nd parents session
• 12pm – lunch, awards, and panel discussion
• 1pm – 3rd parents session

Volunteers are needed for various roles (see the descriptions and time commitments in the order form when you register).
