Juneteenth Celebration at the Neill-Cochran House Museum

Explore Black history on the west side of Austin at the Neill-Cochran House Museum (NCHM), one of the city’s oldest residences.

Juneteenth Celebration at the NCHM includes fun activities to enrich your understanding and challenge your creativity:

  • walk-up painting workshop with brilliant local Black artist Rejina Thomas
  • Black West Austin Driving Tour of Wheatville and Clarksville
  • dominoes with Veterans Services of Travis Co
  • lawn games and scavenger hunts
  • refreshments

The activities and Driving Tour are free with Museum admission: $10 general / $8 senior / free for kids under 12. Activities run 11:00am – 4:00pm. Painting with Rejina Thomas ends at 3:00pm.

The Black West Austin Driving Tour starts at the NCHM, and participants travel to various sites by their own means to watch the videos included. The Tour is available at the NCHM front desk from June 14 – 25 and is included with the price of Museum admission.

Free parking is available behind the Neill-Cochan House Museum.
