It’s that time of year. Folks are in a mad rush to get in the gym or get to some sort of fitness class and get it tight and right. We ate, drank and were as merry as could be, and now it’s time to get whipped into shape! Austin is constantly in the conversation on the fittest cities in America and there a ton of amazing instructors here. These are a few people who are doing great things in Austin and provide welcoming and diverse spaces for us to get our physical bodies in motion.
LILY SHEPHERD Come on, I would be remiss not to mention myself! I’m a certified group fitness instructor with over 20 years of dance experience. Twerk N Burn is my signature class and is definitely a calorie scorcher. Besides TnB, there will be a variety of dance classes including Afro-Caribbean, Booty Voodoo and more, plus the resurgence of Titties to the Mat! a hardcore ladies only group fitness class on the schedule in 2019. The objective in all of my classes is to embrace the journey to becoming more confident, powerful and mindful through movement.

SABRINA WRIGHT As a wife and mother of 4 girls, Sabrina understands the importance of getting in on a tight schedule. She is a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist, and recently created her own fitness format called WERKn30, resistance, weights, endurance, and kickboxing all synced to music to help her clients hit it and quit it. Her motto is “Don’t just GET FIT, STAY FIT!”
MELISSA PENG A newbie to Austin, Melissa is already influencing the fitness scene. Melissa has been a dance enthusiast most of her life with a particular fondness for Dancehall and Afrobeat. After realizing that her favorite forms were underrepresented here she reached out to some of her contacts in the dance world about bringing their talents to Austin and Pon Di Beat was born. Each month top choreographers will be teaching a dance and fitness class in Dancehall/Afrobeat styles. The first installment was a huge success!
I’m Lily. A mother, entrepreneur, dancer/choreographer, foodie, fitness professional, and music lover who loves to experience the best of everything. Since moving to Austin 3 years ago I’ve made it a point to jump in and experience all that this city has to offer. You can find me eating chicken wings at the Rolling Rooster, practicing yoga with Grow your Lovespace, on the dancefloor at Body Rock or busting a sweat at Twerk N Burn among other places.
