Michael Cohen Appeals for Presidential Pardon and Visits Jesse Jackson Jr.’s Radio Show

Michael Cohen has requested a presidential pardon from President Joe Biden in regards to his 2018 convictions.

In a significant turn of events, Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer of President-elect Donald Trump, is seeking a presidential pardon from President Joe Biden.

Cohen, who was sentenced to a three-year prison term for crimes related to his work with Trump, has formally submitted his application for clemency before Biden’s term concludes on January 20, 2025.

Cohen’s appeal came as he prepared to join former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. on his radio show, which airs on KBLA Talk 1580 tomorrow, January 15, 2025, at 4 PM (EST) / 1 PM (PST). During this appearance, Cohen will discuss his hopes for a pardon, stating, “My hope is that Joe Biden offers and presents me with the same pardon that he did for his own son.” This remark highlights Cohen’s belief in the possibility of receiving clemency, drawing attention to Biden’s previous actions. On Fox News, Cohen also stated, “I’m someone’s son, too!”

The Jesse Jackson, Jr. Show airs weekdays, 3pm – 4pm CST.

Jackson Jr. himself is also in pursuit of a pardon from President Biden. The former congressman has been vocal about his desire for a second chance, and during a recent White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed inquiries regarding Jackson Jr.’s request. She emphasized the President’s commitment to offering second chances, stating, “Obviously, the President believes in Americans who have shown that they can get a second chance to have a second chance.” Jean-Pierre further noted that Biden’s record on pardons and commutations has been historic.

As Cohen and Jackson Jr. seek to navigate their paths toward redemption, their appeals underscore a broader conversation about forgiveness and the potential for rehabilitation within the American justice system. The outcome of their requests remains to be seen as the clock ticks down to the end of Biden’s current term.
