Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks confirmed during a press briefing Sunday, June 16, that two people were killed and 14 others injured in the shooting at Old Settlers Park on Saturday, June 15, during the Round Rock Juneteenth Celebration.
Reports say that two groups got into a fight, and that escalated to one of the fighters drawing a gun and shooting into the crowd, only hitting bystanders, including children. Also during the conference, Chief Banks released a description of the suspected shooter. The description is as follows.

“Round Rock is a strong city, strong community, and we’re going to hang together. We will get through this,” said Chief Banks during his briefing. The two deceased victims were announced to be Ara Duke of Pflugerville, Texas, and Lyndsey D. Vicknair of Austin, Texas. Both women leave behind their spouses and children due to this senseless act.
Chief Banks stated, “If you’re man enough to carry a gun and pull the trigger, be man enough to step up. Turn yourself in.”

While the police and EMS arrived shortly after the shooting, fellow concert attendees also attempted to help the victims, providing wound compressions, giving CPR, and checking pulses.
