9.2

Here is the premise: A widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by a merciless spirit, the family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.

I have been a fan of Mike Flanagan since Oculus, and Hush blew me away earlier this year; so it was no surprise that I would really love OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL. First, a great story, even when you have moments that are cliche-ic, Flanagan puts his spin on it and makes it awesome. The story never gets cheesy, it is a really good scary movie with just enough jump scares and real scares that keep you on the edge of your seat. I actually enjoyed this one better than the first movie, it may be the fact that Flanagan is involved, but it really is a great horror movie; and you don’t necessarily have to see the first one to enjoy this one.
