Here is the premise: After being humiliated in front of the President of the United States of America, the Bella’s are taken out of the Aca-Circuit. In order to clear their name, and regain their status, the Bella’s take on a seemingly impossible task: winning an International competition no American team has ever won. In order to accomplish this monumental task, they need to strengthen the bonds of friendship and sisterhood, and blow away the competition with their amazing aca-magic!

While excited about this sequel, I was a bit worried they would tarnish the original by making a sequel just to cash in, but I was surprised that Elizabeth Banks (who pushed for the first one to be made and directed this one) treated the second film like her own baby and gave us another aca-winner.

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson again steal the show, but I was really impressed with the aca-newcomer Hailee Steinfeld, who will knock your socks off, I guarantee. One thing I love about a well done sequel is that you have the time to explore the characters a little more since you know them and do not have to have the back stories. There is a romance between Bumper and Fat Amy and between Benji and Emily (Steinfeld.)

All in all, this is not just a sequel for sequels sake, it is a well-made, stand-alone film that will leave you happy and singing a song as you leave the theater (cup song perhaps.) If you liked or loved the first one, you will be very happy with the follow-up.
