Richard Samuel, owner and founder of RichesArt Gallery has a lot to celebrate, including the third anniversary for the first location of the aforementioned gallery. It’s hard to believe how much the studio’s team has accomplished in those three years, from partnering with SXSW, AfroTech, etc., to even opening a second location. Now, this weekend, Richard is inviting you to celebrate with him.
This weekend, June 7 and 8, RichesArt will be hosting two very special days of events. On Friday, their latest exhibit, Art of Collaboration, will be debuting to the public. “This exhibit will explore how artists from diverse backgrounds come together to create carefully blended art pieces,” says Ariyana Wells of RichesArt Gallery. The exhibit will feature 30 pieces of art by Sade Lawson, Felipe Gomez, Xavier Alvarado, Leah Bury, Elaine Alonzo, and Richard Samuel, himself.
Immediately after the exhibition, prepare for the Art Revolution: Street Fashion Show, which will showcase diverse styles and influences, from bold prints to edgy streetwear silhouettes, by Rich Prophet, Haus of Season, November Love, Rasehouse, and Hustleworld, each collaborating with local artists. Day one’s event will benefit the AS ONE Initiative, which is actively working towards creating a more inclusive craft beer community by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The opening reception will be Friday, June 7th, 2024, 7pm to 11pm, and tickets are still available.
Saturday, June 8, embark for the Art Boat Party on Lake Travis. Attendees will be able to explore a spacious 50-person party barge and a luxurious yacht that will be transformed into a floating art gallery with stunning pieces. While onboard, guests can mingle and fully engulf themselves in nature, art culture, and inspiration. Tickets for the Art Boat Party are unfortunately sold out.
A little history about RichesArt Gallery from a previous article of ours: upon opening the OG RichesArt Gallery, Richard already had a five-year plan that included expansion, partnership, land ownership, etc. So far, he appears to still be on track. The new exhibit, Art of Collaboration will be on display June 7 through July 27, 2024. If you can’t make it this weekend, be sure to visit before it’s gone.
RichesArt Gallery is located at 2511 East 6th Street, Unit A, Austin, Texas, and is open Friday to Saturday, 12pm-7pm, Sunday, 11am-4pm, and by appointment only on Thursdays.
