The paradox of celebrating MLK Day—honoring one of history’s greatest humanitarians—while simultaneously witnessing artists like Nelly and Snoop perform for a man who stands in stark opposition to those values is staggering. Trump’s coalition—tech billionaires, white ultranationalists, and Christian evangelicals—has now added two hip-hop legends to their roster. A twice-impeached, convicted felon, purported sexual abuser, and habitual liar leading the free world. Again. 😑

Their performance at the inauguration serves to validate Trump’s track record:

❌ Refusing to rent to black people
❌ Blocking black casino workers from prominent roles
❌ Spending 5+ years spreading lies about Barack Obama’s birth certificate
❌ Calling Haitians “cat and dog eaters”
❌ Attempting to lead a lynch mob against the Central Park Five
❌ Politically and personally attacking Black communities

Performing for this man—on MLK Day, no less—feels like a dishonor to Dr. King’s legacy and all he stood for. But OK, Nelly and Snoop—y’all do you.
