THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD Review

Fellow movie-goers: Decent sequel, almost as good as the first installment.

Here is the premise: Bodyguard Michael Bryce and hitman Darius Kincaid are back on another life-threatening mission. Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid. As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio get in over their heads in a global plot and soon find that they are all that stand between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman.

For the most part, THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD is as much fun as the first movie, but for me, there were just a couple of parts that did not hit the mark. As much as I love Ryan Reynolds, the whining about losing his license ran thin very quickly, I almost yelled at the screen “Just get over it and give us more action!!!” which finally happened. Other than that, the movie worked very well and was a fun filled, action packed, bullet riddled, four letter word extravaganza!!!

I was excited to see Morgan Freeman added to the cast, as well as Gary Oldman, both did a great job, and I was satisfied with their roles. While some of the story is a bit much, the rest of the script is fantastic, (as did all the cast) and gives Salma Hayek a chance to be front and center and that is always a good thing. Some of the cinematography was spot on but there were a few shaky moments I was not happy with.

Overall, a fun, action packed movie worth seeing. If you liked the first movie, you will like this one.
