Here’s the premise: As storm season intensifies, the paths of former storm chaser Kate Cooper, lured back to the open plains after a devastating encounter years prior, and reckless social-media superstar Tyler Owens collide when terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed. The pair and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives. The cinematography for these scenes were wild and so very awesome, I was in awe of the film crew with every scene.
2024 may go down in sequel history, and more so, GOOD sequel history. I was doubting if this could hold up to the first iconic movie; I mean slapping an “s” on Twister did not instill that strong feeling that I needed. Walking into the screening, I was surprised when I heard wind whipping and realized it was coming from the screen where the promo picture came alive…OK, maybe this will be fun.
First of all, the visuals, star of the show, they upped the ante from the first movie by leaps and bounds. it was so real, I found myself holding my breath and gripping the arm of my seat as the twister scenes were playing. The danger seemed real, and that added to the overall suspense of the movie.
Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell had an instant chemistry; you knew they were going to wind up flirting throughout the film. I felt like the entire cast was awesome and real, it felt like watching a documentary at times. I was excited as they were, invested in all the characters, and felt like I knew them for a while, kudos to the writers and actors. It was also cool to see Paxton’s son, James in a cameo.
I thought the story was solid, everything about this movie blew me away like I was in the twister, I especially like that the film makers did not make it about climate change, I am so tired of preachy movies; I just want to enjoy a movie.
I highly recommend TWISTERS, Paxon had always wanted to make a sequel and he would be proud of this one
