#vibethis: Black Ink, Black Art, Black Influence

Black influence is deeply rooted in the artistic culture of Austin. Austinites may enjoy the work of Italian artist Gio, who often depicts Black subjects.

As for me and my house, we will love art. Black art. Black music. Black In Austin. No one can deny the colors and shades of Blackness that can influence masterpieces only a muse of a certain color can inspire.

Recently, my thoughts were captured by the image “Sguardo,” as the gaze from the page came to life just as I imagined the Italian artist, Gio, experienced it. He fell in love with those pretty brown eyes, and that brown skin like a song moved his pen. Black art from an Italian perspective is worth a look.

Black influence is deeply rooted in the artistic culture of Austin. Just stroll down to 12th Street to the East side and view the many murals of Black images on the sides of the buildings.

Gio, naming his work after the Italian word for gaze, has many more ink and paint depictions of Black men, women, and children available for your viewing and purchasing pleasure online. Why not take a peek? And remember, Monae Miller said #vibethis.
