Hereβs the premise: A radio host from New York City attempts to solve the murder of a girl he hooked up with and travels down south to investigate the circumstances of her death and discover what happened to her.
From a fellow Texan, I absolutely loved this movie, from the poking fun at Texas to truisms about us OG Texans, it was a barrel of fun. The script is awesome, mixing some laughs around a tragic event and coming up with a blend of fun and emotional roller coaster ride. The characters are as big as Texas itself and will not only make you laugh but undoubtedly remind you of someone you know.
B.J. Novak, from The Office, wrote, directed, and stars in the movie and does a phenomenal job wearing all those hats. Again, the writing is top notch, from a cinematography standpoint, again top notch, and B.J. does a great job acting as well. Because of B.J., I will forever be saying “100 percent!!” The rest of the cast is awesome and are cast perfectly in their perspective roles. I will also have to say, even for the short time he is in the movie, Ashton Cutcher is very memorable. The back and forth with was it a murder or overdose was very well done, and it will keep you guessing what really happened all the way to the end.
I love this movie and highly recommend it, and if you are a Southerner, you will too
