Here is the premise: An apocalyptic story set in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken and almost everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Max (Hardy) is a man of action and a man of few words; he struggles with memories of the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. Max teams with Furiosa Theron), a woman of action who is running away from the evil Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) with a cargo of his female sex slaves, she is taking them to the green place for freedom.
What an action packed thrill ride, it starts off with Max fighting for his life as Immortan Joe and his minions (not the cute ones) syphoning his blood for their own personal human IV, and never lets off the accelerator. Hardy does not have much to say through the movie, but he gets the job done very well as the tortured man who is running from his past. Charlize Theron is absolutely awesome as Furiosa, who rocks the screen and kicks serious butt throughout the film. She is powerful on her own, but when she and Hardy team up; it is like dynamite; exploding on the screen to the very end of the reel.
The story is a bit thin, but really the action and special effects are the real stars of the film and when you talk Apocalypse, there is not much to a story beside survive. Being a huge fan of the original series, I will have to say that George Miller is back in a big way and I am so glad!!!!
